Indian Folk Tales publishes retellings, summaries, and context about traditional tales and classic story collections. The archive is undergoing a story-by-story review. This notice describes that review and does not mean every older page has already completed it.
What the current review examines
- the specific source, edition, collector, author, translator, archive record, or publication behind a page when evidence is available;
- the difference between an underlying traditional tale and a later translation, retelling, summary, or adaptation;
- whether historical, cultural, origin, moral, and classification claims are supported;
- repeated sections that do not add page-specific value;
- age guidance, headings, links, image descriptions, canonical URLs, and structured data; and
- the available provenance and rights evidence for story text and illustrations.
